When Life Gives You Lemons… Make Liz's Lemon Bars
End of summer....
A few weeks ago I noticed the change...the birds weren't waking me up with a racket in the early morning hours...replaced instead by the buzz of the crickets in the grass and the sound of early nuts hitting the ground. The light has swung south, taking longer to stir us to action. At BOLA granola we noticed another change. Our small business and your satisfaction depend on the United States Postal Service to deliver the thousands of packages we send to our customers near and far. We started getting disturbing reports of delayed packages. Now we know that this disruption is part of a strategic plan to starve one of our nation's most beloved and essential institutions. Haven't we all waited for "checks in the mail"? Even in this digital world or maybe because of it "hands on" has a new meaning. We value not only the service, but the people who provide it. We urge you to add your voice in protest. Below are some suggestions of how you can help.
Call or email your elected officials or text USPS to 50409 and the resistibot will send letters to your representatives on your behalf. Buy stamps! The USPS does not receive any federal funding and relies on stamps and other products and services for operating expenses. Write to the USPS Board of Governors to express your concern for the situation. Here is a clickable list of their email addresses. Spread the word! Join in on social media by sharing your story of how the postal service keeps you connected and use the hashtag #SaveThePostOffice!
Meanwhile, be nice to your postal people....make them Liz'l lemon bars?
